The deal, in plain terms

Terms.

In effect August 31, 2026

Short version: this is a free product in its early days, it makes a judgment call about you from one conversation, and it can be wrong. Here is the rest of it.

Who we are

TheCall is operated by Latewood. Write to jack@latewood.io about anything on this page, including deleting everything we hold on you. A person reads that inbox.

What you get

A phone call of roughly fifteen minutes with an AI interviewer, and then a read emailed to you as a PDF. It is free while we are early. If that ever changes you will be told the price before anything is charged, and nothing on this site takes payment details today.

What it is not

A read is our opinion, formed from one conversation. It is not career advice, legal advice, financial advice, or a medical or psychological assessment. It is not a qualification, a test result, or a diagnosis, and it promises no job, no interview, and no outcome of any kind.

Please do not resign from anything on the strength of one PDF. Weigh it against people who know you.

It can be wrong

The interviewer misunderstands people. The read overreaches. When it is wrong we want to hear about it, because that is the only way this gets better. Email us and say so.

The number you enter

Only enter a phone number you own. We dial it within seconds of you pressing the button, and calling a stranger on someone else's behalf is not a prank we are willing to run. One call per number per day.

We call United States and Canada numbers for now. Other countries are told so at the phone step rather than being left waiting for a call that is not coming.

Capacity

Every call costs us real money, so there is a hard ceiling on how many go out in a day. When it is reached the site says so and you are welcome back the next day. There is no queue and nothing is charged to you.

Recording

The call is recorded and transcribed. You consent to that when you press the button on the last signup screen. If anyone else is in the room or on the line, they need to agree too, and that part is on you.

Fair use

Your read belongs to you. Post it, forward it, or delete it, as you like.

We can stop

We can decline a signup, end a call, or withdraw the service, and we can do it without notice. Realistically this happens for abuse or because something is broken.

Liability

The service is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of it or from a decision you make after reading your read. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.

Changes

The date at the top is the date these last changed. Using the service after that date means the new version applies.
