What we hold and who touches it
Privacy.
We record a phone call with you and turn it into a read. That is a lot to hand a stranger, so this page says exactly what we keep, who processes it, and how to make it all go away.
Who we are
TheCall is operated by Latewood. Write to jack@latewood.io about anything on this page, including deleting everything we hold on you. A person reads that inbox.
What we collect
When you sign up: your name, your email address, and your phone number. Your browser also tells us its user agent, the page that sent you here, and the time you signed up. That is the whole signup record.
From the call: an audio recording, a written transcript, timing signals derived from that transcript (how long you paused before answering, how fast you spoke), and the read we write from them.
We do not ask for and do not want your address, your date of birth, your employer, your salary, or any government identifier. Nothing on this site asks for payment details.
What we use it for
- Placing the call to the number you gave us.
- Writing your read and emailing it to you as a PDF.
- Checking our own work. We reread delivered reads to see whether they were any good, because a read that sounds convincing and is wrong is the failure that matters here.
We do not sell your information. We do not send it to employers, recruiters, or job boards. There is no advertising on this site and no tracking pixel in the email.
Who processes it
Running this takes a handful of services. Each one gets only the part it needs.
| Service | What it handles |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosts the site and holds the database with your signup and your read. |
| Retell AI | Places the call, runs the interviewer, records the audio, and transcribes it. |
| Anthropic | Reads the transcript and writes the read. Your details are not used to train their models. |
| n8n | Moves the transcript between the steps above. |
| Sends your read from Gmail and keeps an internal log of deliveries in Sheets. |
These services run in the United States and elsewhere, so if you are outside the US your information is processed there.
Who reads your read
The two people who run TheCall get a copy of every read by email. That is how we catch a bad one. Nobody else sees it, and it is not published anywhere.
Your read has no public web address. The only copy you can open without asking us is the PDF attached to your email. Everything else sits behind a key or a password.
The recording
The call is recorded. You agree to that before we dial, on the last screen of the signup. If you change your mind during the call, say so and hang up, then email us and we will delete it.
How long we keep it
Until you tell us to stop. There is no timer running in the background, and we would rather say that plainly than promise an automatic deletion we do not actually perform.
Email jack@latewood.io and we delete the recording, the transcript, the read, and your contact details. Ask for a copy first and we will send you everything we hold. Tell us something is wrong and we will correct it.
Not for under 18s
This is built for people already working. If you are under 18, do not sign up. If you believe a minor has, email us and we will delete the record.
Changes
The date at the top of this page is the date it last changed. It is worth checking before you sign up again.
